 Radiohead performed “15 Step” in 5/4 on the 2007 CD In Rainbows, and arranger Matt Harris has transformed the original meter into a series of infectious grooves in 11, 3, 5, and 7.  Radiohead released “2+2=5” on their sixth album Hail to the Thief in 2003.  This is one of the most creative, important big band compositions ever written by anyone! It is also a chart which has been in demand for many years.

As recorded on the brilliant recording "A Dream Deferred" (Flying Dutchman CYL2-1449), by the Oliver Nelson Orchestra.  This arrangement by Bob Curnow is based on Johnny Richards' original composition written for the Stan Kenton Orchestra, which was part of the "Adventures In Time" album.  This is one happy chart!  It starts with the trombones laying down a nifty bass line, and then a great groove with a calypso pattern.

 As commissioned (and recorded) by the SWR Big Band of Stuttgart, Germany, this chart is another superb Curnow arrangement of the music created by the Pat Metheny Group. Bob Curnow has written some marvelous arrangements of Metheny/Mays music in the past, and this chart will surely "tug at your heartstrings.    Arranged for the WDR Big Band (Germany), Richard DeRosa has written a beautiful masterpiece on this traditional Christmas favorite. Scored as a brass and horn chorale, this moving piece is filled with fluid cantabile lines, engaging counterpoint, lush harmonies and gorgeous ensemble climaxes.  The 1961 Capitol Records recording of Christmas music was a smash hit for Kenton.

 This historically important piece opens with a rubato piano solo and then moves to a terrific Rugolo trombone feature (originally recorded by Kai Winding).  The Count Basie Orchestra performed the music of Billy Byers for many, many years. His arrangement of "Come Fly With Me" is recorded on the Basie album Frankly Basie: Count Basie Plays the Hits of Frank Sinatra. Set in an up-tempo swing feel, Byers hits it hard from bar 1 and doesn't let up until the end of the chart. One of Kenton's most important compositions.
