Interlude - Pete Rugolo

Recorded in 1947 and included in the Milestones LP, this piece is a gorgeous melody (one of Pete's best known).  One of those mystery charts that hardly anyone knows about, this chart is a beauty.  This is another of the many wonderful charts arranged by Lennie Niehaus for the Stan Kenton Orchestra.

Lover Man - arr. Bill Holman
Retail Price: $50.00
This is one of Holman's best loved (and most often played) charts.  A lovely Broadway tune as scored for Kenton's dance book.  This chart was originally written for Charlie Parker to perform with the Stan Kenton Orchestra.
Intermission Riff - Ray Wetzel Mission Trail – (Gene Roland/Edited by Bob Curnow)
This is the original version of the tune recorded in 1946, and also included in the Milestones LP.

Hear The Music! See The Music!

Although Sierra Music published the original version of this cool chart in the past, Bob Curnow decided to edit it and make the Stan Kenton Orchestra piece a lot easier and fun to play. The instrumentation has been changed to standard big band, and the demands for extreme high trumpet playing have been altered (works very well). The original of this great Latin chart was recorded on “Viva Kenton.” This is a laid-back, moderate tempo tune that brings you the best of Kenton and Roland. You’ll love it.
