3x3x2x2x2=72 - arr. Bob Curnow Artemis and Apollo - arr. Bob Curnow Begin the Beguine - arr. Johnny Richards
This arrangement by Bob Curnow is based on Johnny Richards' original composition written for the Stan Kenton Orchestra, which was part of the "Adventures In Time" album.  This is a newly re-arranged version of the magnificent melody recorded on the Adventures In Time CD (available on CD from Sierra).  As recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on Back To Balboa (Capitol), Richards takes this great standard and turns it into a 6/8 latin and swinging screamer.

Contains all of the following charts:.  Johnny Richards is perhaps best known for his work with the Kenton band.  The 2nd movement of Richards' amazing Cuban Fire Suite.
Fuego Cubano (Cuban Fire) - Johnny Richards Get Out of Town - arr. Johnny Richards How Do I Look In Blue? - arr. Lennie Niehaus
Movement I (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite.  Johnny Richards at his best! A very playable chart without a lot of range concerns for brass.  This is another of the many wonderful charts arranged by Lennie Niehaus for the Stan Kenton Orchestra.
I Concentrate on You - arr. Johnny Richards La Guera Baila (The Fair One Dances) - Johnny Richards La Suerte De Los Tontos - Johnny Richards
This was recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on Back To Balboa, and it is a highly original, exciting chart (latin/swing) on a great standard tune.  Movement V (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite. Movement VI (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite.
Quien Sabe? (Who Knows?) - Johnny Richards Quintile (Edited) - arr. Bob Curnow Recuerdos (Edited) - arr. Bob Curnow & Fred Stride
Movement IV (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite. Here is another one of Johnny Richards' great latin tunes as written for the Stan Kenton Orchestra. Johnny Richards wrote this gorgeous melody as part of the incomparable Stan Kenton "Cuban Fire" CD, and now this version allows the music to be performed without all of the usual high trumpet and complex rhythms of the Stan Kenton Orchestra recording.
Recuerdos - Johnny Richards Rendezvous At Sunset - Johnny Richards Speak Low - arr. Johnny Richards
Recuerdos - Johnny Richards
Retail Price: $55.00
Movement III (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite.  One of the things Johnny Richards did best was write gorgeous melodies (many just think of him as bombastic and obsessed with odd-meter things). New updated 2019 format!!!  Recorded on the Back To Balboa LP by the Stan Kenton Orchestra, this is a typical Richards chart in that it contains exciting ensemble blowing and lots of solo space for trombone, tenor sax, trumpet and alto sax.
Stella By Starlight - arr. Johnny Richards Tres Corazones - Johnny Richards Two Cultures - Johnny Richards
This is the bass trombone solo, as recorded (The Kenton Era) by George Roberts with the Stan Kenton Orchestra.    Movement VII (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite.  Richards wrote this piece some years after writing the Cuban Fire Suite, but it is written very much in that vein (although it is much easier to play).
Yesterdays - arr. Johnny Richards
Originally arranged for George Roberts and the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Johnny Richards' treatment of the beautiful ballad "Yesterdays" is a bass trombone feature throughout.
