Scored as a brass and horn chorale, this moving piece is filled with fluid cantabile lines, engaging counterpoint, lush harmonies and gorgeous ensemble climaxes.  The 1961 Capitol Records recording of Christmas music was a smash hit for Kenton.

His arrangement of "Come Fly With Me" is recorded on the Basie album Frankly Basie: Count Basie Plays the Hits of Frank Sinatra.  Ernie Wilkins was one of the most successful contributors to Maynard Ferguson's amazing big band library.  This is a great chart to feature your drummer and the entire ensemble! Starting out with a bombastic Eastern-sounding introduction (ala Genghis Khan), it then launches into a hard-driving minor blues stated by the trombone, trumpet and tenor saxophone.  Johnny Richards at his best! A very playable chart without a lot of range concerns for brass.

Another great chart to add to the ever-growing Pat Metheny Series, Bob Curnow has arranged this down-right funk tune originally recorded on the PMG album We Live Here.  This chart was recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra on the CD "I Told You So.  A medium latin groove setting for a marvelous trombone solo on the melody.
