 Pat Metheny is known for his beautiful melodies, and "Back In Time" is no exception. Here is a slow, gutty, "down-home" type of blues written for and recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra on the Adventures In Blues album.  Bill Holman wrote some of the best music played by the Stan Kenton Orchestra and "Boop Boo Be Doop" is surely one of those charts.

 Fred Sturm brings us another fresh, innovative arrangement.  This is a beautiful, lush, straight-eighth ballad on the popular Cole Porter tune "Easy To Love. Another great chart to add to the ever-growing Pat Metheny Series, Bob Curnow has arranged this down-right funk tune originally recorded on the PMG album We Live Here.

 Oliver Nelson delivers great arrangement after great arrangement, and this one is no exception! A quick, uptempo swing tune, "Gon Gong" is the perfect "opener" for any program.  New to Sierra Music, composer/arranger Jamey Simmons brings a great, new original, "Greasin' the Skids", set to a New Orleans 2nd Line Feel (with momentary switches to a swing feel).  In 2012 we introduced Omar Thomas to the list of Sierra composers and arrangers.

As recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra on their album Hits of the 50's & 60's - This Time By Basie, Quincy Jones' arrangement of "I Can't Stop Loving You" will bring your audiences to their feet.  Quincy Jones wrote some incredible arrangements on very popular tunes for the Count Basie Orchestra.  This arrangement by Oliver Nelson is a gorgeous alto saxophone feature of Cole Porter's "I Worship You.

 Fred Stride adds to his expanding series a great, slow-swinging original that is playable by most any band.  Originally recorded by the North Texas University 2 O'Clock Band, Vern Sielert's arrangement of "Like Someone In Love" is set in an even-eighths Latin feel.  Sierra Music is happy to add David Springfield to their long list of distinguished composers and arrangers.
