This magnificent scoring of "Carol of the Bells" by Rich DeRosa (professor of composition/arranging at University of North Texas) was part of a long overture originally commissioned by the WDR Big Band, Germany. Bob Curnow's adaptation of Rich's score allows the traditional jazz ensemble to perform a 5-minute contemporary setting that will be a wonderful addition to any big band jazz Christmas concert. You will find this arrangement to be full of lush harmonies, marvelous key changes and counterpoint.
